I want a live-action dark and gritty remake of Aladdin, accurate to the Middle Eastern folk tale, set in a dystopian cyberpunk world, where all of the occult and the magic is replaced with advancements in technology, biological engineering, etc. (Genies are holographically projected out of their source objects; Jafar is an augmentation junkie, and hacker mastermind). A lot of the story could develop in the cyber world, which would be considered as real a place as the "real world." Here the genie could help Aladdin hack the system as he pleases, making a lot of his magical deeds much more feasible in a realistic setting.
