I want an answer from the rescue-no kill-adopt -TNR community! WHAT should I do with the 7 small kittens in my traps whose thin, underweight mothers are now spayed and live in an alley littered with trash, in a neighborhood with abandoned houses, and a kind woman who feeds very little food? Should I s/n them and return them to the alley to live the same lives with their mothers? Should I socialize them and hope that all will be friendly kittens which is not always the case, regardless how skilled you are in taming kittens? Would I want them to go to a rescue, would a rescue even want them because adoptions are slow and are barely moving the ones they already have? Would I want to keep them and peddle them on Facebook, CL, or ads. in newspapers to find them homes, s/n and vaccinated? Would I want to take a chance that they may grow up while waiting for a home and I will end up living with 7 extra CATS? Would I spend weeks and months to hopefully find decent homes for 7 kittens who will grow up to be CATS that are cheap and plentiful and barely stay in homes ? No, I will NOT! I will take them to the appropriate shelter where they most likely will be euthanized because they are small and underweight and also skittish. I however, will get a LARGE bag of food for the woman who feeds the 2 mothers, and gently suggest to increase the amount of food she feeds the 2 thin mothers who live in the alley among the trash...now spayed. And I will go home again, and on to my next project. And I shall get over it!
