I want feedback! XO Read please? :3 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- True love is like a tsunami colliding with a small fishing vessel. It comes at the boat like a thick, brick wall destroying everything in its way and leaving behind no survivors. The explosion of the two smashing into one another is exalting to watch and the shards of splintered wood that have scattered every which way post impact makes the viewer hold their breath. They hold their breath to see who comes back to the surface and gasps the salty air; to see who has survived the force of true love. This story focuses not on the ones who resurface, but the ones who do not. Chapter One His heart pounded with the overwhelming fear and the desire to scream, to shove, to throw a fit. His electric green eyes plastered open dampening from the tears he was so valiantly holding back. He couldn’t divert them from the scene in front of him as much as he wanted to. The gloom that lingered over the gallows from the many lives that had been taken kept his attention. How could he be boiling over inside from the rage and panic and be rooted to the spot unable to do anything on the outside? He couldn’t even let a whisper of his beloved’s name cross his lips even though he screaming it so loudly inside his head he swore it would make him go deaf. He saw the officers shove her none too gently to her knees. Their eyes met, pale, blue topaz clashing with bright emeralds, and he saw the fear that he had in his heart reflected there in her eyes. And though she wore one of his mother’s deep purple overdresses, the only thing that his father had done nicely for her, she still looked like a terrified peasant woman who was innocent not a nobble who was going down with grace even though they had committed some crime. Then again, why wouldn’t she look like such considering, that was exactly what she was. The knot that had made its-self known in his stomach grew larger. He had done this to her. He couldn’t let go even after he was told of the consequences should he continue seeing her. This, her premature demise, was his entire fault. And now, there was nothing that could be done to change the outcome of this day. Nothing. A shy tear slipped from the corner of her eyes. The brims of her eyes were full of precipitation that was ready to fall as soon as the dam broke. The tear mirrored on his own visage. His father’s words rang in his ears now, almost as loudly as he was shouting her name in his mind just moments ago. ”How could you be so stupid!? You have disgraced this family, the entire White family name! You’ve ruined everything because of some stupid, peasant whore! If you are so incapable of separating yourself from such a low life then I will do it for you!” His father was succeeding in his corrupt ways once again. In the here and now, he sorely regretted letter her get caught in the crossfire. As the executioner, life’s bailiff, raised his freshly sharpened sward the crowd around him went silent. Everything slowed down for the pair who was still trapped in a conversation spoken without words. It was like when their eyes met and invisible connection was created that connected one half of the brain to the other. It was mental, chemical, almost physical. A movement of the corner of the mouth, a twitch of an eye, a contraction of a muscle was an entire conversation between the two. In her eyes he saw something that made his heart skip a beat, but not in a good way. She, to the untrained eye seemed content. It seemed like she had accepted her new fate and was now ready to go with the dignity that usually only a noble would carry. But to him, she felt something far worse. She had simply given up. The fighter that he once thought to be unbreakable had been broken. It shattered his heart into millions of crippled pieces. He felt the moisture leak from the sides of his eyes now that there was no resistance to it. Though he wept her eyes dried and turned to glass, unreadable to everyone, including him. The executioner lined up sword and pulled back. The only thing, the little bit of breath left in his lungs swept quietly past his lips carrying to sounds of, “I love you, Katharine.” She smiled mournfully and closed her eyes. He followed her, unable to watch the following seconds in which the cold metal of the executioner’s sword would kiss the back of her neck and rip through to the front. This was it. This was the end. Just an f.y.i. if you are confused as to whats going on... good! That,s how its supposed to be. :) Please leave me a comment! :D
