I want my public service this evening, especially being a Sunday, to do a movie review. Or at least a PARTIAL movie review. I only got maybe ten or fifteen minutes into the movie before I had to turn it off. Folks, I am generally a fan of Kurt Russell, but after attempting to watch the movie DARK BLUE I have changed that status. Now I have to say I am a fan of many Kurt Russell movies. After attempting to watch this one, I dont think I can any longer call myself a fan of his. I lost SO much respect for him for even being in this movie, much less taking part in the language. There are places online that rate a movie for different things in it, one of which is foul language. In that case, the worst a movie can rank is 10 out of 10 for language. Well, you guessed it--DARK BLUE scored. TEN POINTS. And in this case ten points is not a good mark. Folks, if you have even the slightest sensitive ears, STEER WAY WIDE of the movie Dark Blue, released in 2002. It started out with two thugs saying the F bomb in every single sentence, and I hoped maybe they would immediately get killed and we could move on with the movie. But it got no better when they were gone, and Kurt Russell was every bit as filthy-mouthed as anyone else in the show. I watch movies because I want to escape reality. I can hear enough of that language at work. I dont need to listen to it while Im trying to be entertained as well. I give this movie, what little I saw of it, a hearty two thumbs down. Too bad, too, because from what I saw, before the dialog began, it was some of Russells finest acting. imdb/title/tt0279331/
