I want to be like him. ============================= Story of an old pair of shoes. ============================= One day a scholar was walking with his student in one of the fields, ============================= Theyve noticed a pair of old shoes which belonged to one of the farmers who was working in a nearby field, he was nearly finishing his work for the day, ============================= The student remarked to the scholar, ============================= What if i hide this poor farmers shoes and hide behind the bushes and see his reaction ============================= The scholar answered him my son, our amusement shouldnt be at the expense of the misfortune of others, ============================= You are rich, and you could bring to yourself more reward and happiness to you and this poor farmer by putting some money inside his old shoes and only then can we hide to see his reaction, ============================= The student was amazed by the scholars reply and immediately put the money inside the farmers shoes and they hid behind the bushes to see his reaction ============================= A few minutes later the farmer finished his work and returned to find his shoes, while he was wearing them he found something blocking his feet from wearing the shoes, and he looked inside and to his surprise he found money inside, ============================= He looked in disbelief and astonishment that he had this money in his hands, he looked around him in every direction to see if anyone was around him. ============================= He then put the money into his pocket, immediately he fell on his knees raising his hands while looking to the sky with tears running down his cheeks, while sobbing he called aloud to his creator ============================= Thank u my lord, you knew very will how ill my wife is and how hungry my children are and they cannot find their daily bread, Thank you for saving me and my children from destruction, ============================= He stayed in that condition for some time ,looking to heavens, thanking his creator for this gracious gift, ============================= Meanwhile, the student was observing this with tears in his eyes, The scholar told him, arent you happier now? than the original idea you had, ============================= The student replied ============================= Ive learned a lesson today that i will never forget for the rest of my life, ============================= Ive learned things i would never have learned if i lived all my life trying, ============================= Ive learned the meaning of words i couldnt have understood in my life which are , ============================= When you give for the sake of Allah is better than what you receive. ============================= The scholar replied , ============================= Now you have to learn that giving for the sake of Allah, falls into different categories, ============================= 01. When you forgive someone you have the power to punish , thats generosity ============================= 02. When you make Duaa - prayer for another being although he is absent from you, thats generosity ============================= 03. When you find excuses and expel the evil thoughts regarding your brother, thats generosity ============================= 04. When you dont backbite your fellow human being in his absence, thats generosity ============================= These are examples of generosity, anyone can do, generosity does not belong to just the rich ,anyone can be generous ============================= The Glorious Quran Surah Al-Lail (The Night) verses [5 to13] ============================= فَأَمَّا مَن أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى 92:5 ============================= 92:5 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, - ============================= وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى 92:6 ============================= 92:6 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good ============================= فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى 92:7 ============================= 92:7 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. ============================= وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى 92:8 ============================= 92:8 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, ============================= وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى 92:9 ============================= 92:9 and calls the ultimate good a lie – - ============================= فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى 92:10 ============================= 92:10 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: - ============================= وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى 92:11 ============================= 92:11 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? ============================= إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَى 92:12 ============================= 92:12 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; - ============================= وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَى 92:13 ============================= 92:13 and, behold, Ours is [the dominion over] the life to come as well as [over] this earlier part [of your life]. =============================
