I want to go on record to say that while most people are outraged - TopicsExpress

I want to go on record to say that while most people are outraged by Ray Rices punishment (which they have the right to be, and I am too), comparing Rices situation to Josh Gordons situation is apples-and-oranges. Yes, its ridiculous that an assault on a woman resulted in just a 2-game suspension. Its also (in my opinion) a bit of a stretch that testing positive for marijuana could result in a 1-year suspension. However, the reality of the whole ordeal is that Josh Gordon broke the rules for the SECOND time. Despite the pro-marijuana choices our country is progressing towards, weed is still ILLEGAL in 48 states, including Florida (where he lives), Ohio (where he plays), and North Carolina (where he got his DUI). Josh Gordon DOES NOT have a prescription for medical marijuana, and was already under watch by the league for failing a drug test for codeine. And after all that, he continued to make poor decisions. That being said, Gordon does deserve to be suspended from the league after the hearing on Friday, and if its for the season, so be it. Im glad the Browns are committed to him, and I hope he can turn his life around and continue to play at a high level, but that doesnt change the fact that Gordon violated the drug policy set by the NFL.
