I want to move to St. John just NOT to go to this bar. SMH. St. John is an incredibly beautiful place. But the energy I get there as a black Virgin Islander is UNWELCOMED! My first visit there was for work. We were driving with my coworkers. We took two cars because it was a lot of us. We were in the car behind, and watched as she made a wrong turn. A white male driver got out and started screaming in her face. His venom was so palpable I understood immediately that this was NOT about a wrong turn, this was about a wrong color and a wrong gender. What he didnt know was there was a retired Crucian police officer in our car. And it was all we could do to keep him in the car from going after that man. Thats not the energy on St. Croix. So, to see that was jarring. But a message. We have work to do on ALL three Rocks. Thank you, David Knight. I will share and be sure that when I do visit your island I will NOT patronize this establishment.
