I want to preface this story by letting you know that I don’t think there is anything more divine than a mother suckling her baby… And I personally don’t mind if it is done openly, but discreetly in public… Okay, so I took my grandson to a library event and the performer was in the front of the large room with all the children on the floor facing her. The chairs set up in the back for the parents (and the grandparents) were full of men and women. During the show, a mother picked up her toddler, who looked to be 2 ½ or 3 years-old and started nursing. She had discreetly thrown a blanket over her chest and the child; however, this boy did not try to hide how much he was enjoying his lunch. (Have you ever seen, “What About Bob,” the dinner scene?) Oh my goodness, I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing out loud. The sweet mother looked so proud, but many of the attendees squirmed uncomfortably in their seats. If this is the worst thing that happens in their lives, they should count themselves lucky…
