I want to say an ENORMOUS Thank you! to all of you who participated, attended and supported Nomvulas first annual community Knit Festival. We are thrilled with the feedback ! The Festival as small as it was , was a huge success. We had hoped that there would be more local support but we were blessed with the most wonderful people from as far as Grahamstown, Port Elizabeth, East London, Plettenberg Bay, Jeffferys Bay and Cape Town who travelled all the way to join us. The blankets were brilliant and our three judges Retha Guillome from the NMMU University , Lynda Whales and Ronel ,who travelled from Port Elizabeth had a difficult time choosing. First PRIZE in the Blanket category went to Chipo Tachipa. Other winners in the different categories were 2nd Madelaine Barry, 3rd Antoinette Rust. Sylvia Ann Nunn took 1st place with the BEST Throw, Antoinette Kriel took 2nd place and Melissa Evans third. The Best Knee Rug was held by Joan Barnes, 2nd place to Antoinette Kriel and 3rd to Rita Strydom. The best Baby blanket was taken by Susan Delport in 1st place , 2nd place to Denise Van Skalkwyk and 3rd place to Sylvia Ann Nunn. Our final Prize giving Fashion show event was a lovely gathering with wonderful people and we fest our eyes on the gorgeous Nomvula fashions worn by Shamiela, Andrienne and Emma. Wow ! We are very happy with the positive feedback and look forward to an even greater showing and Fest next year 2014.
