I want to take a minute and thank Charles Bukowski for his mind and poetry- Bob Dylan, for his strength of character; Momhammed Ali for his brilliance and two-step, Floyd Patterson, for his unsung heroism; Sandy Koufax because as Vin Scully once said, A genius. The only one who when he walked to the mound, Id think to myself...Is he going to do it tonight? Pitch a no-hitter? The only one. ...and Vin Scully in turn, as any broadcaster who so elegantly catches a phrase like, How good was Stan Musial? He was good enough to take your breath away, gets my vote. Glenn Gould, Terry Allen, Bill Frisell, Kiki Smith and my wife for the flower of her heading your way, unfolding, brilliance. And to the all of you - you know who you are - my thanks. I could go on and on- may all posers fall into the sea and get wet (not drown). Then you can identify them. Most of all, today, I want to thank each of you who has committed and contributed to Shadowmann | An Art Opera. It forms the work of my artistic life, seeking to resolve separate worlds (which are not separate at all), into a Unified Field Theory of Art and Music, I wrote a short paper on that a few years back which followed another supposition of mine called Curve Theory. (which attempted to trace the cause of war- though the Charles Bukowski quote on my facebook will do just fine). All of these efforts, along with over 35 years of artistic exploration, have led me to this work. It is a map, a rocket, an avenue for discovery. S h a d o w m a n n seeks a cartwheel- a kaleidescope like explosion of light (as well as a good laugh). So down the rabbit hole we go and into the light, right after the dark.
