I like to think that I have good judgement when it comes to a persons ability, work ethic, character and the potential for leadership. Paul has the experience, leadership skills and the management ability to lead the Sheriff’s Department. Paul has has been an outstanding Undersheriff and he will make an outstanding Sheriff. What I like about Paul is that he is not afraid to make a decision and once that decision is made he stand by it and he can accept the consequence of that decision whether good or bad. He doesnt put it off on someone else. Paul always demands the best of you and demands that when you show up to work you give the people of Los Angeles County a full days work and that you treat everyone the way you would like to be treated. Paul has always been committed to the values and principles of the LASD. Plus I respect Paul’s judgement when it come to promotions. Paul has always been inclusive when it comes to diversity on the Department. I like to think the Sheriff Department hires men and women who know how to make decision. Throughout our career we make hundreds of decisions some good some not so good. You made a good decision to join law enforcement and you made a great decision when you decided to join LASD.
