I want to thank all my friends and family for the love, support, and warm wishes in the past two weeks. Early this morning, around 12:30 a.m. my father passed away. He fought hard against his lung cancer, and when I spoke with him two days ago, he was still laughing, and joking. He told me Glory Nichole, you take a day to boo-who over me, then get your ass back in gear and get back to living your good life. When I spoke with him, I cried, I begged and pleaded for him not to go, and that I wasnt ready. I told him I didnt care if it was his turn to go. His response? Well Glory Nichole, seems I forgot my get out death free card at home!. Even through his pain, his struggles, and our distance, he was still worried about making me laugh, and not worrying about him. Though our relationship was strained, he was my dad. My father whom brought me in his work shop and we ( I must have been 7ish) built this great toy box together, taught me about the good music of the 70s and fueled my love for science. I will forever miss his sweet voice, his laugh, the way we went into a store for a loaf of bread, stayed in there for an hour because he would talk to a wall if it stood there long enough and his way of making me straighten up with a simple Glory Nichole!. You will always be the first man I loved, adored and couldnt wait to hug I will miss you dad, your Glory Nichole.
