I want to thank every one who has chimed with some of the changes - TopicsExpress

I want to thank every one who has chimed with some of the changes as of late. I think the thing that people need to realize when working in music, is that sadly there is some validity to to comments about the music industry struggling. So to work music, one has to be strategic. Strategic doesnt mean writing checks your butt cant cash, either literally or philosophically. Promises made should be promises kept. And if its Christian music, pretentiousness does nothing for The Kingdom. Itd be great if bands would realize youll never top the Beatles, so if its not fun, probably best to pack it in. There is often to much a focus on catching up with the people around you, instead of rising above by following the Hand that should be guiding you. As Christians, we need to remember were flawed, whatever title we feel we have, whether its teacher, singer, pastor, prophet, were missing it, if were not servants first, and always. Christ was everything, but He never stopped serving. Too many evangelicals get what ever title they think that they have attained, and they think they are above other fellow believers. Christ would wash the feet of the disciple who would betray him, but let some one disagree with a so called Prophet and their ready to send them to hell. Back on the music scene round here, we have to respect every venue, every gig as if its the last time were gonna play, otherwise how can we expect any one to waste time on us. If you cant speak with an artist respectfully, then you probably shouldnt speak, because no matter how good you think your band is, your not exactly Led Zepplin so you can drop the cockiness, which in turn hurts you more than any one when you realize you cant back it up. We made a change because we were working with inexperienced people building kingdoms of self, and doing so poorly, mainly by disguising it as a ministry. Churches were disrespected, venues treated poorly, support not balanced, material sent places with out permission, and when ever you spoke up, you were the one out of order spiritually. Young artists, were squashed and silenced instead of encouraged and nurtured. To be honest, how can one develop artists with out even being an artist your self. You have to love how evangelicals, will try to use diplomacy and pretentiousness to cover up their nonsense, sad thing is, even they know it dont. Yet still they try, never realizing this is whats fueling their lack of relevancy, and insignificance, and does more to point out inexperience and short comings than it does anything. Are my panties in a bunch? Honestly, not really, more like we as a band dont want our experience to be shared by any one else. The thing about doin things right, you never have to tell people you did, theyll already know.
