I want to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged me - TopicsExpress

I want to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged me during this life changing journey. I have been battling the weight war for over 30 years. At times I felt like I won a battle only to lose it again. After much self searching and education I decided to have weight loss surgery, the gastric sleeve. This is similar to the gastric bypass. My surgery was on Dec 10, 2013. First I want to say this is not the easy way out and is not for everyone. It is permanent major surgery. I have had ups and downs. My only regret Victoria Wilt is that I didnt do it sooner. I wont lie of course I wanted to look better and feel better about my self but mainly I wanted to feel better and live better. In the past 2 years I have been diagnosed with asthma and high blood pressure. It was only a matter of time before I would be diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and most likely heart problems. I suffered for a year with a stress fracture wearing a orthopedic boot. Ultimately having to have surgery. Also due to my weight. Only 30 days post surgery I was able to come off my blood pressure meds. My last pressure reading was 126/76. I havent had to use my rescue inhaler since the surgery. Im posting this because I have had so many people ask me how I am losing the weight. In the beginning I didnt want people to know because I thought people might think I was somehow weak taking the easy way out. Thats just not true.
