I want you to close your eyes and imagine. Imagine intelligent Lights powered over the network. Imagine Lighting that is green as the tree in your front yard. Imagine a lighting solution that helps save your business money. Well stop imagining and open your eyes. Today Intelligent Automation would like to introduce you to a Lighting-over-IP Energy Efficient Lighting Solution that is low voltage and is IP Based.#NuLEDs Recent technological developments are just beginning to open up a disruptive change in the way commercial building lighting systems are designed, installed, and operated. The drive for energy efficiency in room lighting has seen LED (Light Emitting Diode) solutions catch up and surpass traditional fluorescent solutions. Meanwhile, Cisco has been at the for front of driving the development of Universal Power over Ethernet (UPOE) to deliver up to 60W over standard Ethernet specification structured cabling. It is now technically feasible to power a commercial building lighting solution through a single low-voltage network. The concept of integrating Ethernet into light fixtures to power and control them from the network is being referred to as “Light-as-a-Service” and is considered a part of the recent trend of the Internet of Things (IOT). Intelligent Automation in conjunction with NuLEDs is proud to introduce Lighting-over-IP. Lighting-over-IP is a Best-in-Class Solution that will take the interior lighting and create a truly networked low-voltage lighting environment that is powered and connected by Ethernet. All luminaries will be low voltage LED luminaries that become end devices on the network. This solution is the only option that creates a complete, truly networked lighting infrastructure that delivers all the benefits of LED lighting on a network platform. The platform builds upon the Ethernet foundation that has risen to be the premier network architecture and evolved into the De-facto standard for networking. Both the electrical power and data/communication are transmitted over a single twisted-pair cable Cat5e or better. Lighting can be easily reconfigured and the exact location of the fixture can be determined after cables are installed. No need for certified electricians (except where code requires) - On going operating voltage is below 60V. POE creates a safe electrical system. Each port has maximum power budgets that are safe for the human body. Furthermore, power is not released from the port until it establishes a relationship with the end device. It must first do a virtual hand shake and establish the power budget before the port releases power, and if the load has a short or overload issue, the port will automatically shut off. The bases of an network system is information. Each port serves as an individual meter, measuring true power consumption on a real time bases. In addition, analytics can be generated from the peripherals on the network to provide information such as occupancy history. As the sensor assortment expands to additional sensors, information such as dangerous gas levels or broken glass alerts can be derived through the lighting network. Made here in the United States NuLEDs has partnered with companies like aeternusLED, DECO Lighting, PLANLED, Riegens Lighting and US LED. https://youtube/watch?v=2D4_eQsIiOo#t=12 So how does this tie into the Internet of Things (#IOT) Devices are going on the network at an alarming rate... even toothbrushes can now have their own IP address... Now lighting becomes an active component of the Internet-of-things. Each SPICEbox has an IP address and MAC address, and is a device that can be controlled, measured and monitored through the network. It becomes an end point that can be a host for other devices like sensors, feeding all the information back to the building system for building analytic s. The NuLEDs Lighting system allows for field upgrades to new versions of firmware. As new sensors or features become available, you can upgrade the system by logging on and uploading the new firmware.
