I wanted to discuss more on my race for Ward 6 City Council in D.C. today to increase perceptions I am running an open, public campaign: I have gained 59 signatures on petitions where the vast majority signed petitions for both Tommy Wells for Mayor and Joseph Slovinec for D.C. City Council: I want to increase access to a note I either gave to signers or showed them: JOE SLOVINEC FOR WARD 6 CITY COUNCIL ISSUES - Increases in job training including access to D.C. Community College at 801 N. Capitol St. - Meetings on community services in all areas of the ward - Education reform - Moderate transportation planning - For polite lobbying to Congress for D.C. appropriations and voting rights: Oppose illegal demonstrations - Increased clean air and environment standards - Ethics reform I am a past Congressional intern for Congressman Marty Russo in Illinois, writer of research for Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and on budget deficit reduction for campaign of Senator Durbin in Illinois, and worked in many campaigns including for the 2012 re-election campaign of President Obama in D.C.. I have attended many D.C. City Council hearings on the homeless and topics like improved access to job training and education: yet I feel we need to improve access for those without connections to wealthy fundraisers. Masters Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in 1982 with many Facebook and social media entries Georgetown Certificate in Project Management 2011 Anyone who wants to help my campaign can e-mail me at jslovinec16@hotmail. Most comments on my other candidacy for Third Vice President of Ward 6 Democrats will occur on other Facebook entries: if youre a registered voter and willing to join the Democrats, please vote for me if you can show up at a Ward 6 Democrats meeting for election at the Hill, 921 Pennsylvania Av.., S.E., this Saturday, December 7 at 10 A.M. with voting between 10:20 and 11:20 AM. I have endorsed Tommy Wells for Mayor and want his people to know I am working on relationship building and I tried to encourage closer cooperation between President Obama and Tommy Wells office since late September with Organizing for Action anti-crime messages and my sending of Dan Pfeiffers letter on the shutdown to Tommys office. I believe in encouraging a polite atmosphere to discuss avoidance of another shutdown and oppose past strategies of Democrats near the Hill which increased Obama-Boehner tensions. These themes are included and party fairness are included in my campaign for Third Vice President. You may discuss my 47 years in Illinois and the Presidential style on this website including President Obamas recent letter on Lincoln: we are still working on ideas for my future involvement: I needed to remind the Democratic National Committee Im in D.C, when they offered to enter me in a chance for a trip to the DNC holiday party. Thanks.
