I wanted to put something on the page for everyday of Advent. Clearly Im a little behind, but rather than make up all the days I missed, Im starting with today. For if, by trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive Gods abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! Roman 5:17 The truth we remember (and highlight) this first week of Advent is that when things are at their darkest, God creates light. That light shines with Gods grace, and it cannot be contained. It is the light that overwhelmes and overcomes the darkness completely. Our GRACIOUS God loves us so much that he sends us his perfect Son. We are now infected with Jesus righteousness. It covers us and fills us with grace overflowing. Through Christ, God sees us as children of light: cured of our sinfulness, blameless and complete. Our prognosis is eternal life. Do something ADVENT-ageous: Visit a hospital or nursing home this season. Share the infectious joy of this season with someone who would brighten to hear it.
