I wanted to send a note out today asking you to consider voting - TopicsExpress

I wanted to send a note out today asking you to consider voting for my relative, John Fritts on Tuesday. John is seeking re-election for Lee County Treasurer, and is a true public servant. John is very watchful of your taxpayer money. He is efficient, and has just 2 full-time employees. We are one of only a few counties in Illinois that is not in debt. John has even developed payment plans for taxpayers so they can pay their taxes monthly, rather than twice a year- this is a lot more work for his office, but John wants to help Lee Co. taxpayers. Outside of the Treasurer’s Office, John has been on numerous local and church boards. He was on the Lee County Board for 10 years; on the Finance & other committees, and was elected Vice-Chairman of the Board before running for Treasurer. John also loves working with the youth of Lee County- this led him to be the 4-H leader of Palmyra Hillbillies for 30 years! He was also an IHSA official for over 30 years. His opponent states that he has done more for Lee County in 1 ½ years than John has in 20 years- Really???? John debated his opponent with ease as he explained his job description: the County Treasurer collects, distributes, and invests funds. Nowhere does it state that he is a County Manager or CFO, the County Board would hire that person. John’s office is functioning at “Best Ever” status, which is amazing with the record low interest rates that he has had to work with. John is a very intelligent and humble man. Please don’t be misled by his opponent’s investment strategy. We must continue to be smart and not “risky” with our county investments. This is why I hope you will continue to support John Fritts for Lee County Treasurer. If you are not in Lee County, I hope you will share my letter with your friends and family who are. Happy Halloween! Nancy
