I was 16, but I still remember sitting in my living room feeling - TopicsExpress

I was 16, but I still remember sitting in my living room feeling the chills down the back of my head as he spoke: “Its been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America… It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give five dollars and ten dollars and twenty dollars to this cause. It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generations apathy; who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep; from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of Americans who volunteered, and organized, and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this Earth. This is your victory… So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, its that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers – in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people… This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time – to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we cant, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes We Can…” Tonight, he will speak again and this time I know that in every word uttered, his dick is being shoved down our throats. For he owns us, America. https://dareconomics.files.wordpress/2013/02/real-income-growth-by-groups-1993-2010.png oxfam.org/sites/oxfam.org/files/bp-working-for-few-political-capture-economic-inequality-200114-summ-en.pdf oxfam.org/sites/oxfam.org/files/file_attachments/ib-wealth-having-all-wanting-more-190115-en.pdf 6 years later and there is only more of the same and one must ask, should there not be a flame in our hearts? For in this nation, out of every dollar earned, 5-7 cents are left for “our victory”, out of every war stopped, more chaos has sprung. And he’s going to get away with his lies, just like the last one did. Because, tonight he’s going to quell the moderates hunger by refurbishing the populist rhetoric of ’08. To what end? To demand higher taxation on the rich from the Republicans? -_- He waited 6 years for his party to lose control of the House and the Senate and suddenly decided to fight for the economic gains of the middle class? 1.bp.blogspot/-pxLJC3TgTgU/UrzhGcDyjQI/AAAAAAAABt4/PES839-ogiM/s640/OnLTxi7.png Brothers, sisters, there can no longer be any doubt; the capitalists of the West have abandoned us. They have forsaken the bonds of fellowship in pursuit of private material gain. They have used our wealth to uphold and raise the gains of the upper crust of society, while the rest of us compete increasingly more for scraps. They seek to enlarge militant support structures rather than rebuild the society’s physical infrastructure. They seek to beat the war drum through a propaganda of fear rather than educate on how to love. And why should they not? Have we given them reason to believe in us? Are we not befallen to the same corruption? Are we not culpable to the democracy?
