I was actually going to wait until my first thesis deadline next - TopicsExpress

I was actually going to wait until my first thesis deadline next week, but I just couldnt get this one out of my head and I thought itd give a nice Sunday afternoon Easter feeling haha. So this is me singing the Dutch version of Scales and Arpeggios from the 1970 Disney classic The AristoCats. The Dutch version is completely different from the English one, its called Kattepoot voor kattepoot (Cat paw for cat paw?) The official spelling of this word is kattenpoot (grammar nazi), but kattepoot gives it kind of a child-like feeling so I think its pretty fitting. I actually like the Dutch one because it uses cute rhyming and word puns. I had to listen for myself what they were singing, because apparently the right lyrics are nowhere to be found .__. every version I found online contained at least 1 error. The song isnt even that difficult, people... -__- The Dutch people acting the original version are Barbra Gulikers (Marie), Michiel Geelen (Berlioz) and Wieteke van Dort (Duchess). The literal translation of this Dutch version would be: Do-mi-so-do-do-so-mi-do I know Brother Jacob and The Flea Waltz High on the piano, I sing my loudest I know Mother, there lies a chicken in the water note for note Cat paw for cat paw for cat paw I spend three quarters on the Minute Waltz Since I study well, I dont sing out of tune anymore I know all the notes, C and D and A and Bes And I scatter them around during the piano les Do-mi-so-do- Do-mi-so-do-do-so-mi-do Do-mi-so-do-do-so-mi-do Who knows, youll be in the cats choir later Usually, cats also have very good hearing Every tomcat sooner or later cracks Paw for paw for paw The very hardest note! (In this song, note is actually a word pun, since in Dutch it doesnt only mean musical note but also nut < hence the last joke of cracking a nut/cracking a note) (also, Brother Jacob, The Flea Waltz, Mother there lies in the chicken in the water and the Minute Waltz are existing song titles.) I was actually a bit proud because even my mom didnt recognize me in this one... she was like Which one is you? xD I have to say that in daily life, I actually sound the most like Berlioz xD that was also the only one in which my mother recognized my voice... Happy Easter, everyone!~
