I was answering a post in a discussion earlier about the pound debate and felt that this point is important.....Surely it is about democracy, when was the last time Scotland voted for a conservative government and by Christ we have suffered for it. Part of the union of crowns stated that NO TAX would be imposed on any one country without being imposed on the entire United Kingdom. Dearest Maggie Thatcher (God rest her soul in hell) forgot that wee clause when she tried out the poll tax in Scotland one year before it was rolled out throughout the UK. Tory government hate the Scots because they are the only part of the UK who give the labour party any chance of opposing them in government. Now it looks like we are going it on our own the English nation have at last woken up to this fact and have decided that even they dont like conservatives. Hell mend them for supporting the political hammer of the Scots in the conservative party. I dont give a shit if I have the pound, the euro or even the Groat. I fancy the groat with 100 boogles to the groat ( let’s keep it decimalised , I like tens). What I can no longer stand is a bunch of extremely dishonourable self-centred people, who know nothing about my country (or real life for that matter), controlling my country
