I was asked to be a guest next week on The Mind, Body & Soul with ANet radio broadcast show to discuss the stresses of pastors! And although I have a busy week next week my heart said fit it in for perhaps with your words you can help somebody and cause others to understand what pastors deal with behind the scenes of the pulpit and or the church! Most times the laity at large and even some of the leaders of the church are cluelessof the pressures senior leaders face on a weekly basis! Besides the demonic oppression just trying to run the church weekly with inadequate budgets, the demands of ministry as it relates to the people and unanswered questions that hang in the balance regarding their own families, their well being among other personal matters such as their health can create stresses unimaginable and even I recognizable to the body at large! Not to mention the many many sacrifices that must be made by the Senior Leader to do what we do to the degree of effectiveness that God requires can also take its toll on the soul of a person! For yes even the one that watches over the soul of others has a soul too! If a senior leader fails to find the needed grace in the sight of God through The Lord Jesus and if they dont have the proper needful support systems they will be void or insufficient of that which they need to continue! In addition, if the pastor does not find rest and (balance) for his or her weary soul then this will lead to their detriment! So the next time you come to church and see your Senior Leader looking shinny, bright, polished and well prepared to minister to you, lift you hands and say Lord I thank you for keeping the mind of my leader this week and Father I ask that you would DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN! Amen P.S. And do your part to help them in some way that you know you can! Annette Harris
