I was astonished to learn that there are thousands of ‘vacancies’ unfilled in the NHS! These posts already exist, and have the funding, so why isn’t the idigenous population of the UK not getting them? Is it lack of qualification? Unwillingness to work? The ‘I’m not picking vegetables’ superiority mentality? Little wonder that the recruitment drive is worldwide. The ‘Coming over here and taking our jobs’ rhetoric no longer stands up to scrutiny. Perhaps the NHS should follow ‘Homebase’ and start recruiting older people!
