I was born 12 years after my elder brother Hari pothen ...I am the youngest son of Kulathunkal Joseph pothen and my mother ponnamma pothen two of the greatest ppl I have known ...the eldest in my family was Mohan pothen ...and then two great sisters Jessy Jacob and Vijyamama chacko ...all of them are no more except my sister Jessamama as I call her ..she is a fine artist and was married to t.m.jacob a brilliant man who was in the international labour organisation who passed away last year ...my sister Jessy Jacob is a PhD in art from the Turin academy of art ...my second sister passed away two years ago ..she was married to m.r. Bobby Joseph chacko who is a great person who went on to become a member of the board of the central board of direct taxes ....an IRS man he served the income tax department rising to the level of. A commissioner of income tax in various parts of the country ...He is a great man who I learnt a lot from ..for me he was the father who I lost when I was 15 ...he inculcated the reading habit in me and looked after me as his own ...only he and my sister remain alive ...My sister Jessy jacob stays in italy ..this year she lost her only son vivek jacob a nephew who I loved ...losing him shattered me and my sister for he was a loving soul who would always call me twice a week to find out how I was he was a brilliant man ...his death shattered both my sister and me ...my sister lives in italy and has this beautiful place in Alwaye where she comes for three months a year ...this time I had to be with her watching her go through the 5 stages of grief ..but as a kid she looked after me and because of the age difference she was more a mother to me ..I love her to bits because she is brave and such a pure lady ...and more than that the most talented in my family ...her paintings and etchings and her knowledge of art is something I have admired for years ...her courage to face life after a twin tragedy astounds me any lesser person would have crumbled ....on the 16 th she goes back to italy and me to chennai ...living with her in Alwaye is an eye opener to me ....I got to hear the stories about my childhood the great stories of my father and mother through her ...for me she and my brother in law in bangalore are people who I love dearly ...this status message is for them for I love them with all my heart ..and u r the only dear ones who love me ...well these r the first in the series of ppl I love ..:)
