I was chasing my 3year old son, Jake, around the living room trying to get him to put his pants back on. Hes wearing a pair of pink fairy wings (legacy of his moms birthday night out with the girls) and he has a roll of birthday celebrations wrapping paper in his hand for a wand. Hes loud, hes unashamed, hes a beautiful free spirit. It hits me. This is the good stuff...it really is. So I will do whatever I can do to protect and preserve that confident, fun loving, free spirited child within him as he grows into a man. Too many of us lose it, or have it crushed by the weight of demands and expectation. Then you see it in your children and realise how precious it is. Grow up..dont grow old.. Now give me those fairy wings :)
