I was clipping Maddies fingernails after her bath tonight and I realized just how blessed I am to be so tired. So many grandparents dont get to wash their grandchilds hair or brush it and blow dry it, or listen to a made up song after youve heard the same one 50 times. Some Grandparents, dont get to eat their cold dinner after everyone else is finished, because she is making plates and drinks and making sure everyone has everything they need. Some grandparents dont have the luxury of giving all their favorite hushpuppies to their grandchild, because she loves them. Then giving her your chicken because she changed her mind. Some grandparents dont get to make cheesy eggs and toast and rabbit milk or play hot potato Dash. Some Grandparents dont get to go through the back pack and be so dramatically impressed with all the beautiful creations and outstanding worksheets from today. Some Grandparents dont get to work on a ring master and trapeze artists costumes, because their grandchild was chosen to be both in the school circus. Some Grandparents dont have the honor of reading 2 books with their grandchildren at night before bed. some Grandparents never know the blessing received as they listen to the innocent prayer requests of a 5 year old. Some Grandparents dont know what its like to snuggle so close and giggle so loud and love so big to the moon and back. some grandparents have no idea how good it feels to know that you are loved 160 pounds. or to make cookies or paint canvas with 3 of your Grandchildren at the same time or to spend $30 on frozen yogurt.Some Grandparents dont know the pride of watching your 5 year old Grandchild read a 62 page childrens book or to drive for 3 hours to watch him (Eli) play in a band at school, or play soccer and Football.some Grandparents dont know the joy of watching her (Brooklyn) sing in the childrens church choir and have a speaking part in the Christmas play and draw and paint so beautifully. some Grandparents dont know the feeling of watching him(Brady) play guitar or grow into braces at 13. Some dont know how it feels to have had the honor of raising one of your grandbabies from 1 yr to almost 3, bathing her (Lily)everynight, teaching her to pray, rocking, singing, diapering, feeding. some Grandparents will never know what it is like to bring hundreds of babies into this world and fall completely in love with a patient and a precious little baby whos head I rubbed before he was even born. I know my list is long and it could go on for hours, but I am so thankful to God for allowing me to be the proudest Grandmother to Brady, Brooklyn, Eli, Madilyn, Lily and Brody. I truly dont deserve all the blessings these babies have given me.Thank you to our children Brittany, Adam, Asia, Chris, Drew, Sabrina and Matt for allowing us the chance to be Grandparents.Thank you God for making it all happen.
