I was conducting an abseiling session for some distance ed kids on one of their camps yesterday on the new abseiling launch platform. Unbeknownst to me I was being observed by a psychologist. I thought she was just a plain teacher but no, she was also a psychologist. I got taking to het after and she gave me a lot of feedback. She was blown away that I was using techniques that are only now becoming recognised as being effective when dealing with people who are finding dealing with stress difficult. Rather chuffed actually. My techniques have come about through observation and dealing with thousands of clients over the years. Over that time I have modified what I do to create an environment at the edge and transition and also pre abseil to ensure that clients have the best chance for success. Even when they fail to go over the edge I make it a positive experience for them in front of the group.I really should write a book. ;)
