I was destined for greatness. Or maybe I will just live out the rest of my days as the Queen Succubus, who knows. Either way, I was forever destined to go down another path and deviate from the norm and mediocre. It was clear then, and it remains clear to this day. Im on a very weird path, and it all began by being shoved on the stage to perform like a dancing monkey among my fellow classmates in our yearly musicals. See? This is where it all started. But I digress. I will tell you this. No matter where you come from, no matter how strange or how embarrassing, you can still be or become whatever you want to. If you believe in yourself enough and work hard, you can become whatever you want. You may feel alone or like the freak now, but I promise... someday, your freakishness will make you so unique and so different that others wont be able to help but be inspired by you. It takes courage to deviate from the norm. Here are some clips from home movies I have dug up. I apologize for the grainy quality, but VHS tapes are evil. K-3, Burnt Hill Road School, Skillman, NJ. Directed by Mr. Weicksel. If youre only interested in spotting me, Ill give you a few hints. I make a rather obscene gesture in Kindergarten demonstrating flowers a blooming... oh yes, I went there.. I mean come on, couldnt we demonstrate that in another way? My twisted older brain. In 1st grade, I rode the New River Train as #9. Appearing with two pigtails and dressed in some sort of Pilgrim-esque dress, oh darlin you cant love 9 and still be mine. True that! 2nd grade... I am the only one in green who cant keep a straight face. Our musical number was about St. Patricks day so I knocked it out of the park on that one... I was fabulous, and rocked a striking side bow. 3rd grade, Mary Poppins, Chim-Chime-nee, brown shoulder length hair, black and white ensemble with giant orange bow yet again (Mom, I hate you, but I love you.) Also, the one who bends down to pick up her broom way ahead of cue. Whoopsie. Watch in delight as I wiggle and move with ADD throughout. Tagging as many of you whom I know will squeal with delight and shake your head in embarrassment while watching this just as I did. If you are unfortunately featured here, do you remember any of this? Find yourself, tag! youtu.be/XomlHAeKgn8?list=UUYd6AWrWgY6vrrfH3jF97Ww
