I was given some parenting advice when Bradley and Tyler were little and I was going through some parenting struggles in regards to discipline, chores, boundaries etc.... and it really hit me in the gut, like a smack across the head and has stuck with me ..but in my opinion in a good way.. I believed it was a #realitycheck that I needed... and as parents in todays world I believe we are often criticized for setting boundaries, restrictions, this is being too hard on kids and we need to make everything easy.. thats what keeps kids happy.. we are pushed to be the buddy, and to keep our kids happy by giving them whatever they demand, along with heaven forbid how dare we expect anything from them like chores, work, responsibility, respectful behavior, manners.. etc....the buddy is what qualifies for good parenting according to many in my experience (this is all my opinion and from my personal experience.. yall dont have to agree and Im not looking to open any hot parenting debates just sharing my opinion) anyways.. the parenting wisdom that was shared with me was...I can either choose to discipline my children out of love for them or not.. and if I choose not to .. I can go ahead and let the world discipline them later.. and the world will.. and the world doesnt give a s**t about my kid... or how they feel about it..
