I was having dinner with some friends in Texas last night I began to tell them about Tres coming home celebration yesterday in West Virginia. I went to say I am now a Seattle Seahawks fan. (I shared this story too.) One of the dinner guests was smiling so big as I told the story. He told me his high school football coach was now the strength coach for the Seahawks, Chris Carlisle. He shared Coach Carlisles story about his successful bout with cancer. We continued to talk then about adversity, resilience, and Gods plan. Bill Smith, LaTanya Smith, and Tre, we will continue to pray as God opens door for you as you continue to share your story and bless people all over the world. Counting blessings today as together we hold onto Gods promises. A special thank you today from me also goes to Darby Dennis, Wally Smith, Beth Litchfield, and Vickie Nott Bale for the phone calls, text messages, videos, and photographs during yesterdays celebration parade. While I am 2000 miles away and very homesick, I felt the love, the presence of God, and the warmth of a wonderful town (Point Pleasant) from Texas yesterday. Stay strong soldiers...the battle is not over..but with God and this kind of love together we can overcome anything. To the Smith family, we love you for your strength, compassion, and Godly example. We admire you for your resilience and ability to overcome adversity in a way I cannot even put into words. You continue to set the Christian example of love for each of us everyday.
