I was in the Bridgton parade on the 4th and when I got to where I was done I started the trek back to my truck which was a good distance at CMP. I was carrying my drum and still dressed up in all my Red, White and Blue. I was walking done the sidewalk back towards the parade where all the parade watchers were and they were thanking me when 4 young ladies between the ages of 7 and 10 said ty for what I did in the parade and ask me a question that stopped me in my tracks. Why do you where so much Red, White and blue? You look like Capt. America. Well, with a lump in my throat I answered so sincerely, My Great Grandfather was in a war, my Grandfather was in a war, My Dad was in 2 wars and I was in the Navy but no War. They all believe in fighting for our freedom which you have today and me being here doing this show my graditude as a Veteran for those who have died fighting for my freedom and yours and those who will die and fight for the freedom we will have forever. And they thought that was awesome and gave me a hug and some candy. Of coarse I got tears in my eyes. God bless America, and God bless the little ones who are innocent and free to ask me those questions.
