I was just chatting with Uchenna F. Bekee from Nigeria about a problem they are having with a venomous snake on the grounds of the school he is involved with building. It is the green mamba. I was doing some analysis of this serpent. In most areas there are natural predators for snakes. Around here we have raptors and we have predatory snakes which prey upon these venomous snakes. Apparently, years ago there was an eagle indigenous to that area which was the natural predator of that snake. That eagle is no longer there. That is unfortunate. Raptors including owls can be quite ravenous. In fact owls, will kill and eat beyond their needs. They are wired to kill.
