I was just thinking, and have wondered this for a long time. I am not sure why people cannot be happy with domesticated animals as their companions. Why must they venture into exotic animals? Arent there enough homeless dogs, cats, and horses? They have to go for exotic cats, wolves, wolf dogs, reptiles in tiny terrariums and what not.Parrots, those are very sad, they live so long and in cages. With parrots, their wings are clipped, they sit on perches in homes or cages, and they are very social animals. There are enough species of domesticated animals already without having to take over every animal out there. It just really, really bothers me. All of it. I just do not get that mindset at all. Wild should be wild...and wild should not be mated with domestic to create animals which do not belong in either arena. I just think it is so sad and so unnecessary when there are so many wonderful breeds of cats, dogs and horses out there. A lot of people have ferrets, those poor things are meant to be so active and they keep them cooped up in cages. Isnt enough that the domesticated animals are contained in some way or another? It is an ego thing in my view.
