I was looking at Georgie as he sat with Roxy, the two of them have become best buds, each excepting of the other, and I thought how much nicer this world would be if we all had the ability to except each other as is. So many times we hurt those we profess to love by our actions and words of scorn. Glances and raised brows at the colorful tattoos some choose to adorn their bodies with , or the language they use, words becoming statements as to their inner self , no snide comments about how much one weighs, as if the person isnt aware of their own body and image, covering up the resulting hurtful and often abusive remarks with phrases such as but its your health Im worried about you would look so much better, or to remind some one of a painful past that keeps them locked in inner turmoil, shut out of loved ones lives, bringing up the past intensifying the sense of loss causing almost unbearable heartache . Why would you want to hurt someone who has worked hard to overcome a past that has so much failure, regret, so much pain, lies. Why remind them? As if they arent aware of the anguish , pain they caused . I look at Georgie , his disabilities limit him from many things in life, but to know he has never once looked at me or anyone else and condemned for thoughts, likes, dislikes, appearance, the way we each chose to dress, or speak; all these things about him make me realize he isnt the one with the disabilities after all, its all of those who do the very things in the name of love, that are the most hurtful.
