I was messaged last night by an anti-feminist stranger whom felt the need to warn me of the house of cards that the feminist movement is and that none of its ideas hold up to public scrutiny. I told him I had no interest in arguing with him and sent him this video (which has been fact checked btw) to which he replied, I wasnt even paying attention, thats all bullshit anyway blah blah blah. Can we just appreciate the irony of the man telling me we dont need feminism as he proceeds to harass me (a total stranger) until I blocked him. Yeah, really. So let me clear a few things up for this new generation of privileged anti-feminist females that dont even know what the suffrage movement was and everyone else dealing with my feminist themed posts. If you think that feminism is about hating men, granting women special privileges, being a victim, being angry, or you legitimately think its not needed, then heres a newsflash for you: YOU DONT KNOW WHAT FEMINISM IS. Double newsflash, this is what its actually about: According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, feminism is the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. Thats it. Thats all it is. Some of you might be saying to yourselves, But dont feminists want to destroy us all and hate men and eat babies and stuff? To which I respond: I think you are confusing feminism with Dr. Evil. They arent really the same.
