I was nominated by Justin for the ALS Ice Bucket challenge. - TopicsExpress

I was nominated by Justin for the ALS Ice Bucket challenge. Instead of just making a video of dumping water on my head, I decided to do something differently. To those of you who posted their videos without mentioning ALS or telling people to visit alsa.org, I challenge you to redo your challenge. It may be difficult for many to believe; however, some people who are being challenged do not want to waste water and/or wish to donate to a large non profit organization (they already have $94 million); therefore, I decided to take a different approach. My contribution to ALS is informing people of the alswalkforlife.org, the event is in 22 days and participants may dump water over their heads if they are dehydrated from the walk :p Many people dont know this about me; I have donated countless hours over the past decade volunteering for non profit organizations helping file their tax returns and managed their books. Smaller charities dont have the resources/reach to get their message out. Therefore, I came across The Cinderella Project where all of their staff are volunteers and they collect funds, food, and clothing for low income households across the Lower Mainland. Their goal is to end poverty by assisting those who cant afford to go to school. The money I spent buying bottles of water for their boutique campaign is less money they need to spend and allocate their funds to scholarships. As summer is winding down, and fall commences, I see the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge winding down by October. Keep the charitable vibe going. I am very proud of the high level of engagement from everyone. First three people to accept my challenge in the comments will be my actual nominations. Have a great weekend!
