I was nominated by Nancy Prouty to tell the story of our kennel - TopicsExpress

I was nominated by Nancy Prouty to tell the story of our kennel name. Gee, thanks Nancy ... Jeff and I started in dogs in 1989. We obtaind 2 littermates (see, we were novice) grand children of Ch. Sunturas Midnight Special ML, Archie and Cosette. Archie was a very sound but, like most first showdogs, was much over trained to the point of almost showing himself (think Sunday stroll in the park). He always knew better than Jeff did at that point and his performances were fairly flat but he would do it just to please us. During those early days showing in Northern Ca. we watched as others would show their dogs and we went to lots of dog shows in those early days observing and going over lots of dogs to learn as much as we could about dogs but also how to present and manage a showdog. Anyway, during all of this watching we saw someone who constantly stood out in the way she groomed, presented and carried herself. Her rapport with the dogs was always constant and positive, win or lose and back then you did lose a lot when you showed a mini. She eventually became one of our mentors so we thank Mary Nie as she helped us to really appreciate and value of the union and performance between a handler and their exhibit. Jeff thought of Wagsmore to reflect how important this bond was to us. To this day while I believe our dogs have evolved (in a better way) we do still highly value the animated show dog. That joy that dogs show when they love what they are doing and the connection with their handler. To this day none of our dogs have ever lost at a show - Feel free to ask any of them. I nominate Frances Hereford Colonna, Dan Harrison and Paula Carter
