I was not involved in the Mpeketoni “AL SHABAAB” terror attack - RAILA ODINGA says Thursday June 19, 2014 - Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, has denied that he was involved in the Mpeketoni bloodshed on Sunday where over 68 people lost their lives and dozens injured. In a press conference on Wednesday, Raila, who is also the CORD leader denied claims that he is plotting a coup against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration but vowed to press on with the coalition’s controversial incitement rallies. “We are still calling for dialogue and our plan is not to dislodge the Government. Sisi hatuna haja ya kupindua serikali. Hatuna haja ya nusu mkate ; Hata robo mkate hatutaki,” Raila said. But Interior Cordination Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Ole Lenku warned that the Government will not allow anyone including Raila to continue inciting Kenyans. “I can tell you for sure that Mpeketoni was all politics and we will no longer allow anyone to play politics with the lives of Kenyans,” Lenku said. But Raila, who is an enigma in Kenyan politics, said he will not be cowed by Ole Lenku‘s remarks where he called for his resignation. “Ole Lenku says I have crossed the red line. He crossed it a long time ago. To say our rallies caused the Mpeketoni violence is to triviliase the issue,” the former PM said. He also once again called for the sacking of NIS’ Michael Gichangi and Inspector General David Kimaiyo over what he termed as incompetence. The Kenyan DAILY POST.
