I was once asked, What is more important, praying, or reading the Bible. I had been told years before that the answer was Reading the Bible, because when you pray, you are talking to God, but when you read the Bible, God is talking to you. This seems as strange a concept as confessing sins in a confessional to a priest instead of directly to God. The Lord needs no middle-man to speak to you; it is a private and Holy thing and unique to each of us. The Bible was translated through the hand of man, and therefore, cannot be considered the true word of God. Nor can any other written or oral text not directly written by His Hand. The closest thing the Christians have to this, is the original tablets that contained the Ten Commandments, as these were purported to be directly inscribed by God. Allowing for variations in translations, as well as the Victors of war writing the history we are all told, I find these various tomes to be more of an Aesops Fables than an actual and factual rendition of all that occurred. This does not mean that my faith is faulty or weak, just that I dont trust the hand of man to accurately portray anything concerning the spirit realm or my eternal soul....
