I was out and I saw this heavily tattooed man trying to sell - TopicsExpress

I was out and I saw this heavily tattooed man trying to sell keychains and stuff. Walking around with a yellow laminated piece of paper, he was telling people that he was just released from prison, and was trying to start over. I could feel his desperation and eagerness even though he had to deal with the condescending looks of people and honestly yes, he did really look intimidating at first glance. I dont know if it was because Im dealing with the the of justice and law in school currently but something just made me walk up to him and tell him I wanted to buy his keychains. At that moment his eyes lit up and I can say Ive never felt such gratitude and sincerity coming from someones eyes. How could I resist supporting him? In light of the approaching Yellow Ribbon Run and the Yellow Ribbon Month in my school I hope that everyone reading this can sincerely listen to the stories of ex-offenders and give them your wholehearted support in whatever ways you can. Wear the yellow ribbon if you ever get it and please dont treat them like they are mere scraps of cloth. If you cant contribute monetarily, itd be great if you could at least give them some words of encouragement. Better yet, share this with your friends and spread awareness for this cause. They are people with difficult and complicated pasts, but every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. Cheers everybadi :)
