I was picking some cherries and my thoughts traveled to memories of my mother and how hard she worked to feed all of us. Momma was a great cook. All of us had jobs to do. I remembered her telling about sending my sister Cookie and my nephew Roger out to pick a pan of cherries. She said they returned very quickly with the cherries, but as she started to seed them, she discovered they had picked a pan of leaves with a layer of cherries on top. I wonder how long it took her to put those two out there to do their job correctly?
