I was reading last night and the book had a Rumi Poem in it, I thought it was very important..... THE GUEST HOUSE This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice. meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. Be grateful for whatever comes. because each has been sent as a guide from beyond. -- Jelaluddin Rumi, translation by Coleman Barks Being human, we have a daily range of emotions that we have to deal with...Being an enlightened person, we sometimes feel that we are doing something wrong if some of these emotions come to us..We are not supposed to entertain these feelings according to some! So we deny these things or we stuff them down....But I think the best thing to do is to acknowledge all that we feel, tell the feeling that we love it, allow ourselves to feel it, but just like any guest that over stays their visit...we eventually have to send them on their way!! But remember to send it on its way with Love!! Namaste!
