I was recently ask how someone could directly heal HIV patients - TopicsExpress

I was recently ask how someone could directly heal HIV patients and this was my response: You can make tax deduction donations to Kingman Christian Church (2830 Gordon Drive Kingman, AZ 86409) and on the Memo line Thai-Burma Border Mission(Serina & Aphu/ HIV) However I do want to warn you to prayfully consider how you want to help, there are churches that are in Mae Sot area that provide food and rent for the patients, but ppl are uncomfortable to visit, my husband and I are not and put in time to visit often to encourage and teach them in the word. One of most important need is their medicine they need to take HIV medicine everyday. The medincine cost $20 a month plus transportation to hospital which is the difficult part since they are illegal immigrants they can get cought and fined on their way to the clinic. We provide trandportation but most of the ppl we help live quiet far and the hospital that most of them get treated at is about an hour away from town through the jungle on dirt roads, at times we get 3 calls a week to take different ppl to the hospital cause we provide safety and comfortable transportation inside our truck. We help the patients with medicine that are really sick and once healthy and strong enough to work we try encourage them to pay for own medicine them selves because this is a need that they will have for a life time. We cant promise to provide for them long term and creat dependency. But it takes time for them to get strong enough to work ( if they start the treament as soon as possible if they keep it a sercret like one of men that died its too late) and the other BIG concern is the patients that have children. We are left to care for them. Due to the lack of resources, we cant take care of them long term but we try to refer them to other NGO that have resources too, but this is a procress as well. We need to evaluate the child before placing them with another NGO during this process the child stays with my husband and I with the permission of the parent and we also have put in energy to build relationship with the family we become part of the family. Part of the evaluation is to have the childs blood tested to see if they also have HIV, feed, cloth, and provide transportation. If the child tested positive then we refer them to a great NGO ministry that provides foster homes, medical treatment, school, and legal documents for the children but its in Chiang Mai about a five hour drive from us. If the child tested negative, finding a place is a little more difficult because many NGOs want the parents to agree to allow them guardianship until the child reaches legal age of 18 or when the child finishes high school which is a very hard decision on the parent, then we provide the transportation of the child as well. Wherever the child go my husband and I are ask to stay for a few days to help the child in the transition period and we make an effort to visit them each month. We have had cases with three girls under the age of 6 just three weeks ago and it cost us $250 for transportation, blood test, referral documents, clothing, food, and lodging. So if you are wanting to help with donation please understand the commitment and the cost to us personally to be involved in the lives of these ppl. Its very hard cause we have to say no at times cause we dont always have the resources to help. We have one little girl that needs to be referred to the ministry that is in Chiang Mai about 5 hours drive. Her father is very ill and she lost her mother at the beginning of the year. But we dont have the finances to take her at this time cause we would need to also stay with her for a few days to help with the transition. May you take this to God in prayer and ask Him how He wants you to help and if you give please send me a message of how you want to help so I can make sure it gets used correctly
