I was saddened & discusted to see ppl have come here an abused the respect of our kaimoana and land. Where has the selflessness gone in which we are only sent to gather enough kai to feed our whanau an dispose of the remainings respectfully. I stumbled across this pile of eaten kina at the tukituki river underneath black bridge yesterday as i was about to go for a swim. This being the river that many of us have swum an fished from since childhood. Over the years i have seen dumpings of heavy white ware on the riversides and rivermouth of tukituki river an many other piles of rubbish like cumon theres a fricken dump on the other side of the bridge use it!!! i understand it is well over priced and some cant afford to pay expenses but do u seriously need to despose at the river? Id rather it on the doorsteps of the governments council that set the high priced dump charges... I only ask that as a community we can keep an eye out for these types of ppl dumping crap on our river/beaches and help keep them off our waterways and lands!!!! Thankyou! Rant over.
