I was sitting at traffic lights in (beautiful) Palmerston North - TopicsExpress

I was sitting at traffic lights in (beautiful) Palmerston North tonight when a car turned in from a side road ahead and started heading straight towards me, flat out. I had a moment (before the pursuing police car distracted me with its pretty lights) to reflect on what was really important right at that point in time and fortunately enough Im still here to share it with you. So here goes, my words of wisdom from having faced 1 & 3/4 seconds of imminent death in (beautiful) Palmerston North on a Monday evening in October. 0.5. I love you, sweetheart. 1. If you cant do the time, dont do the crime. 2. Dont use a small Japanese hatchback as a getaway vehicle when evading police, even if the little badge on the boot says Swift. 3. Dont drive head-on towards innocent people. Either get some proper training to further hone your driving skills, get a better getaway vehicle or dont do the crime in the first place. 4. If you fail to successfully take a corner that a Holden Commodore then goes on to nail, realise that you just made yourself look like a n00b. 4. Make it worthwhile, at 8pm in (beautiful) Palmerston North youve hardly just robbed the Reserve Bank. 5. If your daughter & her mother disappear, dont wait 6 or 7 years to report them missing. WTF is that all about? 6. Lastly, more of an after-thought and distant memory from my yoof, if youre being pursued by the police on a small motorcycle (TS185ER) with a pillion passenger, loose the passenger.
