I was so intrigued by the UAAP 77 peps squad competition yesterday that as soon as I woke up today I made sure that I watch the youtube. And here are my observation of the 3 winning teams. Though i dont know about the technical requirements of the competition. Im speaking based on performance and choreography only. NU (champion): Good theme! Dance routine, costume and headdress appropriate. Their stunts are as if has no ending with a flawless transition. They have explored the possibilities on how they can use stunts and dance routines and put it together into a very exciting performance. UP (2nd): Strong Dance routines, nice stunts, almost clean performance but very basic. I dont even understand the use of their props. UST (3rd): good them also, propse and costume. but their stunts just like the UP team are very basic. and they start to loos energy at the half of routine. I believe the advantage of NU is that they have more male members than the other teams which helped them explore more stunts. Their choreographer has also explored other possibilities for their stunts and incorporated it into the theme really well. I just hope no one takes my opinion badly. :)
