I was still a child when I marvelled for the first time at the several centuries old camel thorn trees in the Deadvlei in a collection of photographs. A unique landscape which is actually untypical of nature, because the shapes are so clear and simple. A graphic landscape. Of course, I couldn’t miss that on my first trip to Namibia. You trudge through the hot sand for a mile to find yourself then surrounded by the orange-coloured dunes of this natural wonder. While I was taking the photograph, the wind was giving me trouble. The air was clear and the sun was setting in a leisurely manner on the horizon. lightandcomposition/photo-of-the-day-february-09-deadvlei-by-rainer-mirau/
