I was talking to a friend of mine whose son battled cancer (& won!) about chemo the other day, telling her that I cant imagine going through this as a child, etc. She told me it helped him to have something to look forward to when he was done. My first answer was being done with this is enough for me to look forward to (because it really, really is). But then I started thinking about it and figured I would make a list of places I want to go next year. As Im making my list, Im telling my husband where were going and hes telling me things to see there. But the thing is, this is how different our brains are... I say Seattle! Ive always wanted to go there. It looks so pretty. We can go to Pioneer Square. And his response is, when do you think we would go? It gets cold there but If we go in the fall we can catch a Seahawks game. I really wanna go to a Seahawks game. I move on to: Philly! I want to go to one of those houses that still have the Underground Railroad and then we can see the liberty bell. He says, Yeah, and we can go to a Phillies game. So I say, Okay... DC. I want to do all the museums again because I was too young the first time I went. Him: Yup. And the Nationals and Redskins... And then he wonders why I roll my eyes so much.
