I was talking with my brother today and he mentioned how he misses the past. Our childhood, parents, etc., and wishes we could go back. And trying not to sound uncaring, uncompassionate, or empathic to his feelings, I said, you know, I dont. I dont remember it, nor do I feel that pain anymore, unless I dig real deep. Every now and again it will come as a wave, rolls in and rolls out again, but for the most I dont miss it, or wish to go back. Today has enough in it. God tells us to lay aside all that hinders us and to press on. I do look forward to the day I will see them again and praise God for it. The Hope, blessed assurance, through Jesus, to be reunited again in glory. I didnt know who to feel sorry for more, him or myself? Then I told him, I remember the day My Lord, Set Free from all that pain. He took all my burdens, my heavy head and heart, and gave me His Rest. Freedom. I thought, there may many others who are feeling as my brother, a heavy heart, remembering, recycling yesterday in our heads the good times of yesterday, yet the now brings us pain, and we become heavy laden, burdened by it all again today, longing, wanting to go back. And is it robbing us of the Abundant Life Christ came to give us? If so, I pray for you today. Father, I thank You that You are not a respecter of person and love us all the same. This is the reason You sent Your One and Only Son, that we might be Saved and Set Free. I ask for all those who are heavy laden and burdened, that You give them rest. They come unto You and exchange all that is weighing them down for freedom. May their mourning turned into joy and dancing. For thy namesake and thy glory alone I ask, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen
