I was testing a student yesterday and was making small talk. She told me she walks to school. I asked her how she gets to school when its raining and she said, Shoot, I dont go to school when it rains! Or if its cold or hot or I dont feel like walking. I asked her what she does when she doesnt go to school and she said, Whatever I want! Hang out with my other peeps that arent at school or sleep. Well....that explains her 56 absences this year AND her learning problems. Who needs a School Psychologist to figure that one out???? The most frustrating part about my job are the parents...only so much we can do in 7 hrs a day (if the kids actually COME to school, that is!)
